The Tradition Continues: The Shirt 2025 Unveiled at Notre Dame: Excitement lit up the Notre Dame campus as fans, students, and alumni gathered for the highly anticipated unveiling of “The Shirt 2025”. The event, held just one day before the annual Blue-Gold Game, marked the continuation of a 36-year tradition that brings the Fighting Irish community together in celebration and pride.
A Symbolic Design for a Historic Season
This year’s shirt features a bold green color, with “Notre Dame Football 2025” on the front. On the back, the powerful phrase “Sing Her Glory” frames a striking image of a running back in a #25 jersey, honoring the upcoming 2025 season.
The design is rich with meaning. Inspired by Notre Dame’s journey to last season’s national championship, it includes subtle nods to iconic moments and the team’s identity as “Team Glory”, a name given by Coach Freeman himself.
Behind the Design: A Labor of Love
Emma Brainard, president of The Shirt Project, shared the creative journey:
“We wanted to say ‘Sing Her Glory’ because this was such a glorious team. Coach Freeman referred to the team as Team Glory, and we wanted to pull that through. The game itself is supposed to be that first home playoff game which we never had before. It is supposed to be a night game against IU and there is a lot of details here.
I’m sure I’m missing some things, but overall lots of Easter eggs, lots of fun things to look for. The flyover, everything about this is supposed to be a Notre Dame game experience. We wanted to incorporate all of our community. I hope everyone loves it and pays attention to the time and effort we put in.”
With layers of hidden references and Easter eggs, this isn’t just another fan shirt – it’s a tribute to tradition, teamwork, and the Notre Dame experience.
